In November, Jack Dagger and I shot a knife throwing feature for History Channel's "More Extreme Marksmen" special.Jack and I have been performing the danger arts together for almost 5 years now. We've worked with Ellen Degeneres, Harry Anderson, Margaret Cho and William Shatner on stage live. We thrown knives in vaudeville, burlesque, circus, comedy, fetish and Renn Faire venues. We've even performed knife throwing stunts for television on Japan's "Dream Vision" series together. But the work we performed for the upcoming History Channel's "More Extreme Marksmen" is record breaking, even for us.
You may or may not be familiar with the danger arts, but let me tell ya, professional performance knife throwers are a rare breed indeed. I mean, how many knife throwers do you know? How many of them perform? How many of them make their exclusive living throwing knives? I am truly honored to be the performance partner of the ONLY full-time professional performance knife thrower I know, Jack Dagger. We have a deep connection and trust between one another - you have to have that kind of love for one another, else the intimate and dangerous act of knife throwing would not be such an enjoyable experience. You can see our connection in the photos by photographer, John Leonetti of the History Channel filming. His entire coverage of our knife throwing shoot is posted here.
As I mentioned, even Jack and I had no idea we could do some of the stunts you will see performed. I imagine that the high-definition/ultra slow playback footage you will see on January 25th, 8pm airing of your History Channel episode will inspire many film writers and directors to include fresh new stunts into their screenplays. To be reminded of the "More Extreme Marksmen" airing date as well as my future appearances, you can subscribe to Tonya Kay's iCal Feed and/or join Tonya Kay's Mailing List and I will make sure you hear the good news!

FYI, your "knife throwing stunts" link goes to your Fire Reel instead of the clip from Japanese TV here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6KybzczxKo
Hey, thanks! That should be updated now. But otherwise, here's the link to the Japanese "Dream Vision" video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6KybzczxKo .
Thanks again.
Congrats on the History Channel special. Also, it kinda ties in to our annual LA Kung Fu Festival that we're having in four weeks.
It's funny! The form that we will be learning is the First and Second Roads of the Double Dagger. Thanks for using the history channel to do a tribute to our Dagger form! :-)
Looking forward to seeing both you and Jack.
Larry
And when you say "see you and Jack" does that mean you will be in Los Angeles? Or see us on television? Or will you see us on television with us in Los Angeles?!?
I've already made the arrangemnets. I have my ticket and I have my double Daggers so I'm ready for the roadtrip. I will be in LA from Feb 4th until Feb 9th.
Last year at this time I came to test and learn the 14th White Crane from Grandmaster The'. This year it will be just for the festival and the Chinese New Year's party with our Grandmaster. I'll have a lot of down time for spontaneous merryment and mischief making!
It will be fabulous to once again see all my good LA Kung Fu friends. Also, it will be great to see all my raw vegan brothers and sisters.
Are you guys going to have a big watching party on the 25TH? Sounds like fun! I wish I could be there.
Larry
On a side note:
I just finished watching the new video "Paul Revere" from Jack and Cowboy Max....:-)
The next one they should tackle: "Pretty Fly for a white guy"
I think whip icon (and my personal hero) Anthony Delongis and his wife, Mary, will be hosting a watching party for all of us, including him, whom appeared on the show, but ... I supposed to be filming my comedic lead in BOLD NATIVE http://www.openroadfilms.net/boldnative.html that day!
Not only do I not have a television at home, I rarely get to watch myself on live broadcast at anothers' home either! I guess, like some, I'll be waiting for it to come out on the internet:-) haha.
Dagger form. I can't wait to see this.

Yes, in the Lonely Garden forum (linked to at the top of this page) you should post to Coyote Whips in the Green Life topic. He made and used the card board box version. He also constructs all my performance whips http://coyotewhips.com.
