I'm creating an altar out of my life. An organic collage of beauty that follows me around.
Things are beautiful because they are mysterious, like the color of that purple sarong stretched across a hotel room table. Things are beautiful because they are pure, like mini skirts covering only the essentials - don't care who's behind me on the stair. Things are beautiful because they are practical, like two boxes of unlit candles, two types of fluffy pillows, two unopened bottles of wine.
But things are most beautiful that are arbitrary - concepts and the expressions thereof that don't have anything to do with nothing - the nonsensical, the unreasonable, the positively preposterous.
I decorate my living altar with Antsy Feet - the ultimate act of absurdity. It has no purpose. It makes no sense. It is lost as soon as it is created. It doesn't exist outside of any given moment.
Yes, dancing is utterly useless. And in that, it is the most ridiculously beautiful thing of all.
